Villa Marceau sleeps up to 10 guests in an 18th-century farmstead in Écrosnes, between Chartres and Rambouillet, 1 hr 20 min from Paris. Le Clos des Passerelles is 5 minutes away by car, La Ferme de Bouchemont and Château d’Esclimont 10 minutes.

The guests’ house

A wedding also happens behind the scenes. There’s the evening before, when you arrive from far away, the morning of getting ready, and the day after that lingers on.

It’s for those hours that we open our houses. Rather than scattering parents, the wedding party and cousins across several hotels, bring them together under one stone roof, just minutes from the celebration.

We don’t host weddings or parties on site: we welcome guests of the nearby venues.

Villa Marceau, for ten

Two houses brought together as one: five bedrooms, including two suites, three bathrooms and two kitchens. Eight guests sleep in separate beds, ten if a few rooms are shared.

On the big morning, everyone finds a mirror of their own, outfits wait on their hangers and coffee brews in two kitchens at once. The next day, the 400 m² enclosed garden welcomes everyone back together in the sunshine, while seven cars rest in the car park.

Maison Raphaël, for a couple

Invited as a couple, or with another couple of friends? Two suites, each with its own bathroom and walk-in shower, a sitting room with a stone wall and a terrace facing the meadows.

On Sunday, the sauna soothes legs that danced a little too much. From May to the end of September, the indoor pool, its water unheated, finishes waking up the brave.

Maison Auguste, for a family

Coming with the children? Maison Auguste sleeps six in three bedrooms, gathered around a large family kitchen. While the grown-ups relive the evening, the little ones run from the stone courtyard to the private garden.

The weekend, Friday to Sunday

Friday. Arrive from 5 pm, at your own pace: the key box is waiting and the beds are made. A simple dinner, a long night’s sleep, and you’re ready.

Saturday. Getting ready happens without a rush, then a few minutes’ drive takes you to the reception. When you come back, even in the middle of the night, the door opens without waking anyone: you can arrive at any hour.

Sunday. Nobody sets an alarm. Depending on the calendar, check-out can slip to as late as 2 pm, at no extra cost: we’ll confirm it at the start of your stay.

A few thoughtful touches

A bouquet of roses for the newlyweds or the wedding party, a bottle of chilled champagne to raise a glass before you set off, a heart of petals on the bed: just let us know before you arrive and everything will be ready.

At Maison Raphaël and Villa Marceau, a massage in the gîte gives Sunday its gentlest recovery. Coming with a baby? A cot and a high chair are set up on request, free of charge.

Getting back from the party

Country roads are short, but at night they’re pitch dark. Hand the wheel to someone happy to toast with sparkling water, or book a taxi a few days ahead, return time included: out in the countryside, you won’t find one by chance.

Peaceful nights

Here, evenings wind down gently. In the warmer months, music keeps you company over drinks in the garden until 9 pm, then it comes inside with you.

From 10 pm to 7 am, the farm returns to its silence, the very silence people come to the countryside for. The house welcomes ten people at most, all of them staying guests, with no outside visitors.

Villa Marceau welcomes only one party at a time: as soon as the invitation arrives, it’s best to reserve it.

A 30% deposit is all it takes to book, and cancellation is free up to 5 days before arrival. Booking direct on our website costs 14% less than on Airbnb or Booking.

Frequently asked questions

Can we carry on the party at the house?

Our houses welcome guests, not receptions: no parties and no visitors from outside the stay. Music is welcome in the garden until 9 pm, then indoors, and the house returns to quiet from 10 pm to 7 am.

We’ll be back very late. What should we do?

Check-in is self-service with a key box: you come back whenever the party ends, without waiting for anyone or waking anyone up.

Can we leave later on Sunday?

Yes, until 2 pm, at no extra cost, if the calendar allows. We’ll confirm it at the start of your stay.

Which stay should we book for a wedding?

Most of our guests arrive on Friday and leave on Sunday. That way they enjoy a quiet evening beforehand, and a day after with no early-morning drive.
